Garway Hill
A windy walk on Garway Hill, Herefordshire
Strong winds, a little rain forecast, storm whatever-name-we're-up-to inbound. Sounds ideal for a walk, so the good doctor and I went to Garway Hill.
It's about halfway between Monmouth and Hereford, and whilst I did find a proscribed walking route (7.2km, 165m vertically), the GD declared that we would just wing it. So we did.
The road to the car park - well, we'd need to discuss the interpretation of both "road" and "car park". Let's fast-forward: we parked and then walked.
It was windy; there was low cloud; there was poor visibility, particularly into the rain. "There's no such thing as bad weather," she said, "Just incorrect clothing". Well I think we had the right clothing today, but the conditions could still be reasonably described as "bracing".
Ultimately it was a nice walk, but we made a note to come back when the weather is a little kinder.
